The responses range from tragic to humorous, and of course there are the unavoidable Internet dumb-asses trying to get a free implant or thinking they can contact Wendy Whoppers through my web page. I'm glad that I have entertained readers and I'm glad that I have caused people to examine their motivations and feelings about breasts, breast size, and implants. |

I ended up here because my little sister wants a set of big boobs so I'm surfing everywhere and printing stuff off for her. She met a girl at her work who is 30 years old and has had her implants for two years. This girl told everything about the surgery and results that she experienced to my sister, ending the whole dissertation with the fact that if she had it to do over again she wouldn't do it. Didn't faze my sister. She still really wants them. My sister's husband wants her to get them too. He told her they could change her life! I told my sister that's not going to be the right thing to say to the plastic surgeon...but, it now occurs to me that perhaps a plastic surgeon who does breast implants will completely agree with that statement.
|
response: |
I suppose implants could change her life? But in the end will it be a good or a bad change? It sounds like your brother-in-law believes that her implants will improve his life. Is she doing this for him or for herself?

In case you don't know yet, that nipple looking thing in your implant is
probably a magnetic valve. The implant is inserted with this area on
the top of the breast area. It's purpose is to allow a doctor to add
more saline solution without removing the implant, so the gal can get
bigger as her skin streches to accomidate the implants. Once in place
the doctor locates the center of this valve by moving a suspended needle
over the top of the breast till it points down (magnetic attraction).
Now the needle is pressed through the skin and into the valve, saline is
added, and then the needle is removed. The valve seals itself so
there's no leakage. You might see if your implant is magnetic around
that nipple looking area to verify all this.

Although you are correct in fact regarding the possible side effects of
breast augmentation, Overall you do not present a balanced view. My
wife after her second child required breast surgery to remove bilateral
cystic breast issue. Overall this would result in about a loss of one
cup size, basically no big deal. An option was presented that during the
procedure she could retain or increase the lost volume, by receiving
silicone gel implants. After several consultations with family and
friends, she chose to slightly increase her proportions from a C cup to
D cup during the procedure; this required the use of a 490 gram implant
on each side. The results (obviously from a male perspective) were
pleasant. Overall I have a hard time distinguishing the presence of the
implants, and consider your description of the results somewhat
"skewed". As an engineer also I was trained to present data accurately,
taking into account all aspects of a particular data set. In fact, I
would imagine from reasonable observation, that it would be an extremely
small percentage of the women who end up with FFF cup sizes. This is not
a bashing letter, but after 8 years of a positive result, just a note
that the results of this procedure are not all bad.

response: |
I never claimed that Wendy Whoppers was an average or representative case. I presented her as a maximum or extreme example. That's why I wrote things like "Wendy Whoppers is a great example of just how far breast implants can be taken." and "porn stars with impossibly huge breast implants", etc. I assumed that I wouldn't need to state the obvious, but... Obviously, most women don't get huge FFF size implants. Most women don't have any implants. The norm for women in American society is to have natural breasts without implants.

I stumbled across your web page while looking for another R&D job in
medical silicone chemistry. I've got a few of these babies laying around
as well, and they're alot of fun. Having 5 years experience with
medical/aerospace/industrial silicone raw material compounding and
synthesis, from the polymers all the way to the finished product, I'm very
familiar with the technical details of these notorious implants.
Implant_1.jpg looks in primo shape, and has a patch (what you referred to
as an areola/nipple--incidentally, that side is almost always "installed"
facing inwards towards the ribcage!) design that looks typical of a Mentor
or Silimed brand impant. Dow (newer dow--older dow implants had a greasy
feel and a lousy patch) or McGhan Implants have a different looking patch
(larger center patch area, and larger pathc/casing overlap area). The
yellow tinge is normal, and is indicative of the low ppm range of platinum
catalyst used to initiate a heat-cure of the internal gel and casing
material. You would probably be amused at the manufacturing process...
That implant looks 100% silicone.. although it may have some coarse mesh
fabric laminated into the center of the patch. I saw a pair of 1,000 mL
implants that were so big they could barely even fit into the packaging
container--they were custom-made. In fact, they had a similar shape to the
implants that I hypothesize wendy has .

What you have is a silicone breast implant. There is no nipple or
aereola on the implant. That is where the implant is filled and sealed
at. Also the implant is not attatched to the breast. The surgeon places
the implant underneath the breast tissue or under the breast muscal. The
breast implant is "free moving". You are able to move the implant up to
your collar bone and it will slide back down into it's propper location.
Now you are alittle more informed. How does it feel to have this info? I
hope now that you have this info you will feel more confedent in you
telling your stories about your breast implant....Have fun with it.
REMEBER.... THE IMPLANT YOU HAVE IS MADE OF SILICONE OUTSIDE AND INSIDE.
Very bad stuff.

am pretty confident about my looks. I am a B cup, barely and I'm
considering implants. No bigger than a C! I agree most do look
fake, yet some don't. I have even went through my husbands old porn mags

you can just tell as you said. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for
giving me something to think about. I really want my tits to be a
little bigger. My husbands swears mine are beautiful to him and he
doesn't care either way. It's just hard to decide on what to do. you

husband. He doesn't mean any harm he just likes a nice set. Not huge
just nice as I do. I know you are not a doctor but I would appreciate

Yes, thats an implant. The nipple like part in the center is the filling
port. This implant would be used with an incision around the areola.
Thats why the filling port is in the center.

The nipple is a tracking device placed in the implant to track the peanut oil implants. The information I have given you was on a popular show, sorry I don't remember which one at this time, but it was on about three months ago. How about that satellite tracking of tits what a country we live in. I wonder how well that tracking device works and what range of motion it detects. Well that's my two cents.

I bet I would fool you. I have implants--between a C and D cup. Mine are so
different from the ones I see on actresses and such. My surgeon told me that
most people WANT the Pamela Lee Baseball Chest Look. I asked for natural ones
and I got them. They are soft, sag a little, and no scars for me. I am very
impressed and wonder now how many other women (or girls like me--I am 22 and
had it done about 10 months ago) have had this done and I just can't tell. I
have fooled 2 lovers so far, so I think that is a good sign.
After years of "I bet you can sleep on your stomach" comments, it is nice to be in proportion and feel like I am the way I should have been with God's help. there was a special about medical examiners the other day on either HBO

remains of a murdered woman. It was just bones and rags - and a couple
breast implants. They traced the serial numbers you described to
identify the murder victim. Interesting!

hi, i just came across your page about the breast implant in your living
room. at first i thought it was just a big joke about your friends playing
with it all the time, but as i read further, i discovered that you wrote
about it very tastefully. you used many facts and had very good points. i
scrolled down and noticed that chart with all the dimensions of the implant,
and thought to myself "This guy HAS to be an engineer." i knew this because
not only are my dad, brother and sister engineers, but i am also in college,
studying to be an engineer, so i know the type well. Anyways, then i
read that you ARE an engineer and just had to laugh to myself.
Actually, in a few weeks, i am going to be having breast reduction surgery.
i have back problems and trouble finding clothes and exercising. So i cannot
understand why women would want to have implants to make themselves
incredibly huge like that Wendy porn star. Like you, I agree that women
should accept their small breasts. my small breasted friends always tell me
they wish they had more, but truthfully, i would rather be and A or B cup
than deal with everything i have to deal with now. Well, i guess i am done
rambling. i just wanted to let you know that i enjoyed this page and that
you did a great job of being informative, yet also comical.

I'd like to take a moment to congratulate you on a job well done! I am
really impressed that a man would take such an interest in a woman's
choice to have breast implants. After reading your site, I find myself
pondering...
I'm scheduled for surgery April 12/00 for my breast implants. However, I find myself getting quite apprehensive as the date gets closer. I feel scared, excited, somewhat ashamed, and somewhat relieved. It's very broad - the feelings that a woman goes through when contemplating such a drastic change. You were very accurate on your reasoning as I'm sure you've done research. When looking at the porn star Wendy Whoppers I feel disgusted in what I see but yet I feel disgusted when I see Tammi Ann (she's more my size now). I have a great sense of admiration for men. I have yet to see a man hunch over or cover themselves so that I am unable to venture a look at their "jewels". For this reason I await my surgery with great excitement...I can't wait to look in the mirror at myself and love what I see. I can't wait to have sex and allow a man to actually grip my breasts in his hands while placing them in his mouth (this is something I've NEVER experienced). There's so much I'm looking forward to BUT I get scared when I read your comment on how breast size is not important to you, or how it's NOT a turn on. I'm a single mother now and I wonder what it's going to be like when I'm with a man not as I am now, but as I will be. You're really making me wonder....I'm sure I'll be re-reading your site quite a few times from now until April 12. |

I, just to tell you that I'm a small breasted woman who thought few months ago to have breast enlargement.
I went to a local famous doc, here, in Italy, to gather info regarding
the job. He told that I should not fear the operations and asked me for some medical certifications and examinations.
I did all the necessary medical exams and nothing abnormal was found in my blood, body or anything else. I was a perfect one for the implant.
The operation was scheduled and I was very nervous. CASUALLY I WENT SURFING THE NET LOOKING FOR BREAST IMPLANT COMPANIES IN THE U.S.A. I read all the ORROR you can find on those sites and I compared information with our italian sites. In Italy (since of the youthness of this business) you cannot find anything but good info regarding implants. There are no associations of injured implanted woman, because these times still have to come. Today I have still my little breasts. Surely I still look big ones with feminine envy, but I am happy and sometimes I feel like responsible no to tell any woman what I saw on the Internet regarding flake breast. What can I do for them? |

BTW the "nipple thing" is a valve, and it does sit under the nipple.
Also, actually numbness will be apparent at first because if the swelling but it fades and only remains if nerves were severely cut. Actually a most women say they have enhanced nipple sensation and it is really quite aggrivating. Personally I do, and it can be a pain sometimes. Hope this helps. This morning I was led by a friend to your page regarding your interesting play toy.
You said that if anyone had info on the implant to e-mail you, so I am.
I am not an expert on implants, or a doctor. I DO HAVE implants and have done years of research on them so I have a guess as to what it is you keep on your living room shelf. With pictures it is hard to tell, it may be a silicone gel filled implant, though the ones I have seen/held were much yellower in color. You say it appears to have a more watery filling so I am guessing that it is a PIP or Poly Implant Prosthesis. They are saline filled but with the shell of a silicone implant (the shell has more 'give' than a regular saline implant shell)...they used to be manufactured in the south of France and imported into the US until very recently. They are pre-filled at the company and sealed...that thing you called the "areola" IS actually the filler valve and not meant to function as anything else. Other saline implants are manufactured empty and filled during the surgery. The stats you have on it don't quite click for me...you said 679cc but 1.44 lb...I have 420cc saline and mine weigh about that much...679cc should weigh a bit more. By the way, my 420ccs gave me a small C cup (as opposed to a full C cup)...that implant is not as large as you imagine. They always look smaller once inside the body than outside. Many of your facts are misleading or just outright WRONG when it comes to augmentation (for instance the vast majority of implanted women CAN breastfeed, have NO loss of sensitivity--FORGET THOSE CLOTHESPINS!! OUCH!!, mammography is NOT a problem if done with the proper techniques, the implant itself NEVER hardens the capsule surrounding it tightens up on it and is called contracture (rare again), they have been around for over 30 years, removal/replacement does not necessitate "disfiguring surgery"--repeat surgery can use the same incision, I had AA's and could NOT breastfeed--tried twice, a good augmentation MOVES and bounces--the strippers you've seen had something wrong with theirs) so to show you how wrong you are I invite you to peruse the #1 augmentation site on the web...if you are not already familiar with it. Please do not use Wendy Whoppers as an example for implants. Over 125,000 American women got BA in 1998 (many more in '99)and very few go for her look. Like other performers, she IS in it for financial reasons..she's making BIG money off men who like that look. She will retire at an early age with a removal/lift and smaller implants (ala Pam Anderson) and be one happy wealthy lady...mentally ill? NO. Smart? YES. Tammi Ann is an example of BEAUTIFUL natural small breasts...if mine looked like hers, I would not have had it done. I rather believe in your sexual encounters that you mention, that you have never run across a really flat woman...an A cup is not exactly flat and can be very pretty. Many don't have that A and are not so pretty. It IS an esteem issue for many, much like it would be an issue for you if your dick were small...(well, I am giving you benefit of doubt here, maybe it IS an issue for you). Thanks for listening. I invite you to come read the below mentioned site, look through the galleries (they will PROVE that you CANNOT spot every BA you encounter) and educate yourself a bit more about that oh-so-special knick-knack you have. I just read your webpage regarding the breast implant in your living room, and I
felt compelled to send you this short email to thank you for your interesting points
of view.
It's a sad fact that society and most men make women feel compelled to what is effectively mutilation of their bodies in order to feel worthy within society and I am one of those women who struggled for years with that dilemma. In the end at 36 years old I felt mature enough to make the decision to go ahead with breast augmentation. I lost count of the times I questioned my true motives. In the end I decided that society was not going to change it's point of view in my lifetime and value people for whom they really are, or make flattering clothes for flat chested women, so in effect I gave in to society and moulded my body shape to fit in. My biggest dilemma was going to be how I felt about that afterwards. Was it a weakness? Maybe it was, but at 15 years of age I got my two front teeth crowned because they were so unattractive, yet this didn't appear to be controversial. If my nose looked hideous to me, I would have no hesitation in getting it "fixed". What it all boils down to is self esteem, as you rightly point out (other than a financial aid in career choice). If you study ANY society, anywhere worldwide, then you will see communities placing high value in things such as the amount of rings a woman can wear around her neck, or how large and flat a man can make his bottom lip etc. etc. etc. Symbolism and identity play a major part in self esteem within any society. You sound like a nice guy and it was good to read a guy's honest point of view - refreshing. But here's a challenge for you. Take a look outside at your parked car and tell me honestly what that car says about you. How many times have you dreampt of upgrading it? |

are you still playing with that implant? You site looked old. but i had a couple of comments.
You need to change the spelling of "auerole" there is no such word. It's "areola" I am positive that what you have is a silicone filled implant. The saline filled ones have shells that are not nearly as clear. Yes do feel free to squeeze and love on it as much as you want but do be prepared for it to break soon. They weren't made to party with really, not in a one-on-one sense. Let me tell you a story. I was scheduling a lady for her augmentation mammoplasty. She brought her little boy with her. We were in my office and we gave him my silicone implant I had on my desk to play with. Dow Corning (may they rest in peace) gave us those, they came in a special velvet-lined wooden box for safe keeping. As we talked the boy had fun squishing it and throwing it against the wall. He then said, look mom, and smashed on top of his head. It promptly burst and we had to clean his hair of much silicone goo. So be careful with that thing. I would like to know if it is still intact. would you mind dropping me a line? |

You mentioned having a friend that worked with testing breast implants. Do you or her know of any way to purchase implants for a similar purpose as what you were using one for. Like a little interesting show and tell piece in your living room? If you have any information regarding acquiring a sample implant, please reply. Thank you |

I am getting my breast augmentation 4/12/01. I am 22, a college grad, in a masters program, and not a stripper. MANY other women besides strippers/porn stars get implants. I am 5'10 and 115 lbs with a very small (we're talking A/AA) and I am going to a very FULL C or a small D. The implant you have is a round smooth one. There are others, such as the ones I am getting, which are anatomical (tear-drop) and textured. Just letting you know that stereotyping women with implants just doesn't work... :) |

I've enjoyed your web page. It's definitely an
implant. If it's truly wonderful to touch, then it's
probably a silicone implant, which means that it's a
keepsake. If it's just nice to touch, and the liquid
lacks viscosity, then it's probably saline.
That round thing in the valve, and the thing in the middle is the plug. The valve is self-sealing, and the plug prevents tissue from growing into the valve and compromising it. It's a rather larger implant, I might add. Mine are 390 cc each, and that raised me from a "baby" B cup to a c/D cup. You've probably gotten comments before from women on the subject, so in case you're still curious (and even if you're not, I guess) I'll tell you: I did it because I felt that at my height, with my wide shoulders, larger breasts evened out my figure. They're new, but I'm pretty happy with them so far. I have no aspirations to the porn industry; I'm a high school algebra teacher with 3 children. I'm married, age 36. I'd rather not be mentioned on your web page. I just thought I'd tell you that I enjoyed yours very much. I like that kind of free-associative writing. Have a great day! |

Hello from the Netherlands!
I stumbled across your page while looking for some sort of comparison to the density of silicone compared to the denity of water in cubic centimeter increments (which, of course, I didn't find...) I really enjoyed reading it and have bookmarked it. I also respect your opinions because it was presented in such a wonderful way. You displayed a great deal of insight. The implant you display looks like silicone gel, to me. The saline implants I've seen don't look that nice. Saline implants also tend to feel hard and not-very-nice. Many women describe them as "water balloons". I have had implants since 3 Nov 2000 and am problem free. (mine are BLUE!) I stayed on the smaller side (large B+) so I wouldn't look out of whack. Fortunately, living in Europe has it's advantages as far as implants are concerned. The choice is much greater here. Mine are cohesive salines not available in the states. My plastic surgeon doesn't think any implant is particularly good (he's honest), but since I insisted on having them he said the Monoblocs are the best. I have the advantages of silicone and none of the problems. Here's the site of the manufacturer of my implants (if only for technical information since you are an engineer): http://www.laboratoires-arion.fr/us/monde/index.phtml (It's in English. click on Monobloc Implants on the top left of the page and it takes you further. On that page you can proceed further via the menu at the left; several of those items offer "zoom" capability for the diagrams) I think alot of women with huge implants look ridiculous. (Wendy Whoppers is pretty bad, but Chelsea Charms is WORSE - Hers are downright hideous....EEEEEWWWW!!) I decided, at age 47, that it was my time. I didn't have balanced A cups; in fact, I was AA/AAA - and had assymetrical deformities which were obvious when I removed my clothes. Tammi Ann is adorable, but I was neither adorable or balanced like her - LOL!!! I couldn't breast feed my son because I didn't manufacture enough milk - 35 ml from two boobs, and that's after being attached to a torture device called a electrical breast pump. I thought my nipples were gonna just "POP" off and disappear into all infinity. PAINFUL....and I went all the way from a 36AA/AAA to a 36A - YIPPEE!! And it all went away.... Except for the "almost disappeared" scars under my breasts, nobody would know I had implants. These are not stuck to my chest; they do flatten and fall somewhat to the sides when I lie on my back, but not like a natural breast would of course. They also fall into a natural cone shape when I am in a hands/knees position or just bent at the waist. In a standing position they have a pleasant, natural sag. Pretty darn good for fake boobies! All in all, I am very pleased with the results. I still don't need a bra and my clothes fit MUCH BETTER. I will need one more surgery in my lifetime ((I'm almost 49) when I reach about 62 just to replace these and have the pockets tidied up. I had the original operation with only local injections. Mine are over the pec muscles. I was wide awake and talked to everyone during the operation. I left an hour after the surgery was finished and caught the bus, which took me to the train station (2 hr ride). I even ate at Pizza Hut before boarding the train. Thanks again for such a good site!! You sound like a wonderful man. smiles from Holland! |

Okay, I have looked at your website, someone posted it at implantinfo.com, I have say some of it was funny, but the rest really got me thinking. Should I get bigger boobies or not. Oh well, I have say it was an interesting webpage and I'm sure that is an implant you have. |

This looks like a Mentor pre filled smooth silicone implant about 600cc.
The majority of saline implants are not pre filled. The "nipple" is the valve. Yes, the clothespin would still hurt. Lots of women are talking about your web page @ implantinfo.com (Nicole's site) and getting quite a kick out of it. |

I was looking at your web site, and wanted to make a correction. That isn't a fake nipple. It's the valve. It's how they fill the implant.

Thank you for your web page, I get tired of man seeking larger breasted
women. It was refreshing to view the smaller breast porn star. What could
be better than a petite body with small breasts!

Hi I got a question for you...i liked reading your site, what a typical guy
thinks about it. I want to know how many of them you have or where I can
get some. I have this great idea on what to do with them.
You mentioned you were an engineer, perhaps you can help. |

I am sure you have already discovered this...but the "nipple" on the implant that you have is the fill valve.

been removed for one reason or another, and to me that does indeed look
like an intact new breast implant.

I'm a woman with a SMALL A-cup size breast. I'm also very tall and slim, so naturally it would be kind of weird that I would have been born with anything bigger I suppose. All my life I've wanted bigger breasts, not huge, I mean seriously I would settle even for a B I'm so fucking desperate. I've got a very beautiful face, I'm intelligent and humorous, I hate myself for caring so much about these little tits of mine, when I got so much to offer. Anyway without dragging this on, I just wanted to tell you that reading your page/site, made me feel a bit better. and thanks for that. |

You're tall, slim, and have a beautiful face! Sounds like you could be a model. Plus intelligent and humorous - what a combination. Don't worry about your breasts, really. Many, many men would feel very lucky to date you.

Wow. The breast crusade continues. I actually got an e-mail from a guy berating me for insinuating that Wendy Whoppers' breasts were not real. He assured me they were real without giving any hint of irony (I almost shat myself I laughed so hard). Take it easy on that implant... |
